Opis

The truth about Captain Nemo: a rock opera of censored vengeance
We all know him. The enigmatic genius, the outcast, the captain of the technological marvel, the Nautilus. A character Jules Verne introduced to the world in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. But do we truly know him?
For decades, we were fed the story, one finally completed in its sequel, The Mysterious Island—that Nemo was an Indian Prince avenging himself upon the British. It is a powerful image. It is also a censored one.
We present „Where is Captain Nemo?”—an experimental rock opera that is more than just an album. It is an artistic investigation and a brutal reclamation of the truth that Verne’s publisher forced him to hide.
The Stolen Identity
Few today remember that in Jules Verne’s original, uncensored concept, Captain Nemo had nothing to do with India. In the primary manuscripts, Captain Nemo was a Polish nobleman.
He was a rebel, an insurgent, whose family was brutally murdered by the Russian Empire.
Verne’s publisher, Pierre-Jules Hetzel, was terrified. France was seeking an alliance with Russia, and an openly anti-Russian novel would have been a diplomatic and commercial disaster. He forced Verne to erase this identity. Thus, the Polish avenger became the nameless „No One” (Latin: Nemo), his vengeance stripped of its terrifyingly specific target. The only clue Verne managed to smuggle past the censors was a portrait of Tadeusz Kościuszko hanging in the Captain’s cabin.
This musical project is that original story. It is a „giga musical of electric vengeance.”
An Opera of Awakening
Why tell this story now? And why as a rock opera?
Because „Where is Captain Nemo?” is not just a history lesson. It is a burning metaphor for our own contemporary identity.
The character of Captain Nemo—the Polish rebel encased in the steel sarcophagus of the Nautilus—is a tragic yet powerful image of ourselves. We are like Nemo: submerged in an alien, often hostile world, cut off from the surface, forced to build our own alternate reality just to survive.
His Nautilus is a fortress. It is a refuge, but it is also a weapon. It is the symbol of grounding yourself in your own strength when the outside world tries to crush you or, worse, erase your narrative.
This rock opera is the sound of that struggle. It is the sound of the Nautilus’s engines, powered not only by electricity, but by the overwhelming, resonant force of an acoustic sound chord. It is the sound of a fury so profound it has become a musical frequency.
„Where is Captain Nemo?” is a story of awakening. Of reclaiming a voice that was stolen from you. It is the realization that to fight for your identity, you must first descend to the very bottom, and from those depths, begin the hunt.
The hunt at the bottom of the ocean begins now.
